Image released of alleged Blackpool rapist

Detectives in Blackpool have released an evo-fit of a man they want to speak to in connection with the alleged rape on a woman on Saturday night.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the alleged assault which took place shortly before 11pm in an alleyway at the back of Deansgate in the town.

During the evening, the girl is believed to have been out drinking with a female friend in Roxy’s bar in Queen Street, Blackpool.

Police said she left the bar shortly before 11pm with two men who she had been speaking to in Roxy’s.

It is claimed they all walked from Queen Street into Abingdon Street and then into an alleyway adjacent to Deansgate - a distance of some 200 metres - where the assault allegedly took place.

At this time of night there were a large number of persons in the Queen Street area who, it is hoped, may be able to assist police with inquiries.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and are keen to trace the two men believed to have been involved.

Both men were white and are described as being in their late teens to early 20s.

The first was 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall, slim with mousey brown hair and wearing blue denim jeans, and a black shirt.

The second was 5ft 8ins to 6ft, slim build, short brown hair with blonde streaks, wearing a V neck long sleeved sky blue or electric blue jumper and blue denim jeans.
