Police name Blackpool sea death victim

A young woman who died after going into the sea off Blackpool at the weekend has been named by police.

Claire Burns, 21, from Middleton in Greater Manchester, ended up in the sea after rowing with her boyfriend in the early hours of Sunday morning.

She was rescued by the emergency services but was later pronounced dead at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Her boyfriend, who was also rescued from the sea by police and lifeboat crews, has been bailed by police after being arrested on suspicion of her murder.
